Communication Design is an elective studio course offered through Portfolio Plus — an intensive, three-week pre-college program that immerses students in art studies at Washington University’s Sam Fox School of Design and Visual Arts. This class is made up of high school students looking to flex their design muscles and learn more about what a major and career in communication design can mean.
In addition to studio projects, students conduct research on a key figure in the world of design and illustration. These figures come from the past and the present, providing insights to the development of communication design throughout history.
This blog is a place for students to share their research and opinions. It is a place to gain inspiration and knowledge, and create a dialog about the way humans communicate visually.
